Power-up Balloons are special items that appear in Balloon Kid, Hello Kitty World, and Balloon Fight GB.
Function[]
Collecting a Power-up Balloon will cause the player to be invincible for a period of time. While invincible, any enemies the player touches will immediately be defeated and fall off screen, and the screen will scroll faster. Spikes and other environmental hazards will also be harmless, although the effect does not protect the player from losing a life if they fall completely into the water. Their function is similar to the Invincibility Star in Nintendo Land: Balloon Trip Breeze.
The item will only appear in certain stages once the player pops a specific Balloon in the level. Once the normal Balloon is popped, a Power-Up Balloon will float up from the bottom of the screen, moving through any platforms which are in the way.
Appearance[]
Power-up Balloons are standard-sized balloons with the letter P written on them. The P covers most of the balloon. In Balloon Fight GB, these items flash red and black, though they only flash light gray and black when played on a Game Boy without color.

Trivia[]
- A similar-looking item named the P Balloon appeared in Super Mario World, though that item caused Mario to float like a balloon instead.
