Vs. Balloon Fight: Demo Phase

The Demo Phase of Vs. Balloon Fight is a special, unplayable stage that can be seen after waiting on the title screen.

Layout[]

The stage looks very similar to Phase 1, though it has a few minor differences. Just like Phase 1, there are two large Platforms, with one in the bottom half of the level and one in the upper half. The level number on the bottom of the screen is not present, a white Cloud is missing, and one of the Balloon Birds is green instead of pink.

Demo[]

Unlike in NES Balloon Fight, the scene which plays out in the demo is consistent each time it plays. It starts with both Balloon Fighters flying up just above the first platform. The red Balloon Fighter flies up faster than the blue one, and immediately flies into the Balloons of the pink Balloon Bird and then the green Balloon Bird. The red Balloon Fighter falls down to knock the pink Balloon Bird off the stage, as the blue Balloon Fighter flies back and forth across the left edge of the screen.

Both Balloon Fighters fly up further to encounter the second pink Balloon Bird, and the red Balloon Fighter pops its Balloon and then tears its parachute in mid-air. The blue Balloon Fighter then pops one of the red Balloon Fighter's Balloons. First, the red Balloon Fighter falls down to the platform below and pops the rising bubble from the first pink Balloon Bird, then the blue Balloon Fighter follows. Then, the green Balloon Bird which is now yellow wraps around the screen to pop the red Balloon Fighter's last Balloon, and immediately afterward the blue Balloon Fighter gets struck by lightning.

After both players respawn, they wait on the ground until the screen eventually returns to the logo, ending the demo.

Notes[]

There is currently no known way to access this stage. The only way to see it is to wait on the title screen until it switches to the high score table, and then it will switch to some demo gameplay showing this stage.
Unlike in the NES demo, the score counts increase as the demo plays out, although the score is reset before the game starts.
